Karl R. Olsen obtained his PhD in Civil Engineering from Washington State University and has been a clinical assistant professor in the Civil Engineering Department at Washington State University since 2009. His research interests include non-destructive testing of structures, and sustainable design. He teaches undergraduate courses in structures, fluid mechanics, geotechnical and transportation fields. Karl also teaches an interdiciplinary design course that focuses on Washington State Ferries, as well as the development of communities that can sustainably support biofuels industry.
