Charles serves as NARA communication and publicity director. His duties include writing NARA reports, executive summaries and newsletter. In addition, he handles matters relating to NARA publicity and website content.
Before joining NARA, Charles taught biochemistry related courses at the University of Idaho. He also served as staff scientist at the USDA/ARS Wheat Quality Laboratory in Pullman, Washington. He earned his doctorate in plant physiology at the Institute of Biological Chemistry at Washington State University and holds a bachelor’s degree in English at the University of California, Los Angeles
