Scott Leavengood has worked for the Oregon State University (OSU) Extension Forestry program since 1994. He has worked in 3 locations around Oregon providing technical assistance to wood products manufacturers and forest landowners. Scott currently works as director of OSU’s Oregon Wood Innovation Center.
Scott was the lead author on a study to assess the barriers and opportunities for utilization of woody biomass in Oregon as well as the research needs. He also serves on the Oregon Forest Biomass Working Group, a multi-disciplinary team with representatives from public and private organizations focused on developing markets for forest biomass in order to provide economic incentives to reduce the risks and costs associated with catastrophic wildfires.
Scott received his M.S. in Forest Products from OSU in 1994 and Ph.D. in Engineering Management from Portland State University in 2011.
