Ian Dallmeyer is currently an assistant research professor at the Composite Materials and Engineering Center at Washington State University and a member of the Co-Products Team under the framework ofNARA. His research focuses on activated carbon materials and other value-added products derived from lignin. His interests are broadly related to wood and lignin chemistry, polymer science, polymer rheology, renewable materials, advanced techniques for materials characterization, and novel processing technologies for the creation of new bio-based materials from lignin and other biopolymers.
Prior to joining WSU, Ian worked at Weyerhaeuser as a scientist in the Cellulose Fibers Technology group. Ian received his doctoral degree from the University of British Columbia in Wood Science and a Master’s and Bachelor’s of Engineering degrees in Biomedical Engineering at Vanderbilt University.
