Laurel James, who serves as tribal partnership projects liaison for NARA, was recently honored with the “Diversity in Action Award” presented by e3 Washington. E3 is an initiative dedicated to integrate education, environment and economy in Washington State and is coordinated through the Environmental Education Association of Washington.

The state-wide award recognizes an individual, organization, or program that demonstrates cultural awareness and encourages a multicultural approach to environmental and sustainability education projects or programs.

Laurel was selected based on her efforts through the NARA project and for assisting indigenous students at the University of Washington.
