Daniel Schwartz, Boeing-Sutter Professor and chairman of chemical engineering at the University of Washington, was awarded the 2015 Marsha L. Landolt Distinguished Mentor Award. The award recognizes a University of Washington faculty member who has made outstanding contributions to the education and guidance of graduate students.
Dr. Schwartz leads the NARA Tribal Partnerships Program (TPP). This program provides undergraduate and graduate students an opportunity to work with Pacific Northwest Native American Tribes. They complete projects that enhance resource management and deliver technical designs on bioenergy and bioproduct systems tailored to the resources, ecologic, and economic development needs of a community.
