Wood-to-biofuel conference to be held in Seattle

NARA exploring Montana as aviation biofuels corridor

In Montana, the Northwest Advanced Renewables Alliance is developing regional aviation biofuel solutions, since the aviation industry is in need of a viable and sustainable alternative to fossil fuels. Washington State University’s Integrated Design Experience’s specific role within NARA was to propose a supply chain in the Western Montana Corridor, a region reaching from eastern Washington to western Montana.

Gifford Pinchot group announces partnership

The Gifford Pinchot Task Force, a Vancouver-based nonprofit, on Friday announced a partnership with an energy-focused environmental group to explore new uses of wood waste. The task force will join forces with the Northwest Advanced Renewables Alliance to look into converting wood biomass to “biojet” fuel. NARA, headed by Washington State University, also counts the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Boeing among its major partners.

Cornell University Engineer’s Research Could be Worth $150 Million!

She was enthralled by the Cornell experience when on an all-exspenses paid trip to their campus during the university’s Diversity Hosting Weekend and decided right away that it was the campus for her. She has interned at Northwest Advanced Renewables Alliance and is involved in a raft of university clubs.
