The Northwest Advanced Renewables Alliance (NARA) is concluding its final year under the contractual terms with the United States Department of Agriculture’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture (USDA-NIFA). Many of the outputs generated from this project are recorded in peer-reviewed journals or documents in various NARA reports.

Wood to biofuel webinar series offered

The Northwest Advanced Renewables Alliance (NARA) will provide a Wood-to Biofuel webinar series that presents recent findings relating to the use of post harvest forest residuals (material left in slash piles) to produce alternative biofuels for jet aircraft and other co-products.

Five webinars are set for the month of October to celebrate National Bioenergy Day on October 21st. Additional seminars will be scheduled and posted within the following months.

The IDX team at Washington State University has been tasked with evaluating the NARA 4-state region (Oregon, Washington, Montana and Idaho) to determine optimal locations for infrastructure to support the NARA biofuel supply chain (conversion of forest residuals to bio-jet fuel and co-products). The IDX team at Washington State University has been tasked with evaluating the NARA 4-state region (Oregon, Washington, Montana and Idaho) to determine optimal locations for infrastructure to support the NARA biofuel supply chain (conversion of forest residuals to bio-jet fuel and co-products). The IDX team will present optimal locations for depot (for collection and processing of feedstock and/or production of sugars) and conversion sites (pretreatment of feedstock and conversion to bio-jet fuel) in each market region.
